All selections recorded April 26, 1940, except A5 Dust Cain't Kill Me and A7 Dust Pneumonia Blues recorded on May 3, 1940 at Victor Records, Studio 3, New York, New York. Robert P. Wetherald served as producer on first date, was not present for the final session one week later. 12 of these recordings released in July 1940 on six 10" 2-sided shellac disks, which were also distributed in two packages, [r4580310 and Volume 2. LP technology was still a few years away, so both releases consisted of a container to hold it's three disks, along with text and artwork. RCA Victor finally released this LP in 1964, which included two unreleased tracks, A6 Pretty Boy Floyd and B6 Dust Bowl Blues, both recorded with the other tracks.
